{"id":6797,"date":"2025-01-09T13:03:35","date_gmt":"2025-01-09T13:03:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=6797"},"modified":"2025-01-09T13:03:35","modified_gmt":"2025-01-09T13:03:35","slug":"xrp-etf-could-soon-be-a-reality-ripple-president-says-as-rlusd-gains-traction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=6797","title":{"rendered":"XRP ETF Could Soon Be a Reality, Ripple President Says as RLUSD Gains Traction"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>An XRP exchange-traded fund (ETF) could soon become a reality as favorable U.S. crypto regulations bear well for local businesses, Ripple President Monica Long said in a Bloomberg interview on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think we will see one very soon,\u201d Long said. \u201cI think that we will see more crypto spot ETFs this year coming out of the US, and I think XRP is likely to be next in line after bitcoin and ether.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe think, especially with the administration change, the approvals of those filings will accelerate,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n<p>Long added that Ripple\u2019s new RLUSD stablecoin will be available on more exchanges \u201cimminently\u201d and expects it to become a major part of the firm\u2019s payments and money businesses.<\/p>\n<p>RLUSD was rolled out to the broader public on Ethereum and XRP Ledger in December and has a $72 million market capitalization as of Wednesday. It adopted some of Chainlink&#8217;s services on Tuesday to boost utility across decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/tech\/2025\/01\/07\/ripple-aims-to-boost-rlusd-stablecoins-de-fi-utility-with-chainlink-standard\" target=\"_blank\">as reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In October, Bitwise, the asset manager, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/business\/2024\/10\/02\/bitwise-makes-xrp-etf-plans-official-with-sec-filing\" target=\"_blank\">submitted an S-1 filing<\/a> to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for an exchange-traded fund tied to XRP. Later, Canary Capital, WisdomTree and 21Shares separately filed for offering XRP ETFs, but a decision on any is yet to come.<\/p>\n<p>Since November, the speculative optimism among traders has been that a crypto-friendly Trump administration could benefit tokens linked to U.S.-based companies, such as Ripple Labs (related to XRP) and Uniswap (UNI), as the firms are more involved in boosting value for token holders.<\/p>\n<p>Trump\u2019s promises are already bumping Ripple\u2019s local business.
