Uber Technologies Inc.<\/strong>\u00a0(NYSE:<\/a>UBER<\/a>) CEO Dara Khosrowshahi<\/strong> once stressed the importance of embracing cryptocurrencies for practical purposes rather than as a \u201cstore of value.\u201d<\/p>\n

Stablecoins Over Bitcoin?<\/h2>\n

At the Bloomberg Tech Summit in San Francisco on June 6, 2025, Khosrowshahi called Bitcoin <\/strong>(CRYPTO: <\/a>BTC<\/a>) a \u201cproven commodity\u201d but said he finds crypto\u2019s \u201cinstantiation\u201d offers more practical benefits.<\/p>\n

\u201cI do think that stablecoin is quite promising, especially for global companies that are moving money around globally, to create a mechanism for us to essentially reduce costs,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

At the time, Khosrowshahi said that the company was in the \u201cstudy phase\u201d for enabling cross-border stablecoin payments, calling it a \u201csuper interesting\u201d proposition.<\/p>\n
