Coinbase Global Inc.<\/strong>\u00a0(NASDAQ:<\/a>COIN<\/a>)\u00a0CEO\u00a0Brian Armstrong<\/strong> announced on Monday the formation of an advisory board to assess the implications of quantum computing for the blockchain industry and prepare for \u201cfuture threats.\u201d<\/p>\n

Coinbase Moves Against Quantum Threats<\/h2>\n

In an X post, Armstrong said the group will comprise \u201cdistinguished\u201d researchers in quantum computing,\u00a0cryptography and blockchain systems to ensure quantum threats are properly considered.<\/p>\n

\u201cSecurity is our highest priority at Coinbase. Preparing for future threats, even those many years away, is crucial for our industry,\u201d Armstrong said. \u201cIt\u2019s important we\u2019re thinking these through and preparing where necessary.\u201d<\/p>\n
