A new tranche of heavily redacted Jeffrey Epstein files has reopened an uncomfortable chapter in crypto history.<\/p>\n

Emails attributed to Epstein claim he discussed Sharia-compliant digital currencies <\/a>with unnamed Bitcoin founders in 2016, who he said were \u201cvery excited.\u201d<\/strong> The assertion is self-reported and unverified.<\/p>\n

Yet, Epstein\u2019s personal logs list \u201csatoshi (bitcoin)\u201d as a guest for a UN Climate Week event, alongside heavyweights like Larry Summers and Peter Thiel.<\/p>\n

The Timing is Terrifying:<\/p>\n

  • Reportedly, 74.79% of the Bitcoin core development <\/a>and code was committed after Jeffrey Epstein took over the de facto senior management role as benefactor.<\/li>\n
  • Later that year, he donated to MIT staff who knew it was dirty money. They hid his name from logs and internally referred to him as \u201cVoldemort.\u201d<\/li>\n
  • With Larry Summers: Epstein discussed Bitcoin\u2019s future inside his Manhattan mansion.<\/li>\n
  • With Brock Pierce: Hosted the Tether co-founder <\/a>for private strategy sessions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    But he is also responsible for supporting Coinbase<\/a> in its early days.<\/p>\n
