Galaxy Digital Inc.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/a>(NASDAQ:\u00a0GLXY)<\/a>\u00a0CEO\u00a0Mike Novogratz<\/strong> on Tuesday called quantum uncertainty a \u201cbig excuse\u201d for Bitcoin <\/strong>(CRYPTO: <\/a>BTC<\/a>) whales and long-term holders selling off their positions, even though he downplayed its long-term industry impact.<\/p>\n

Quantum Computing Fears: Overblown Or Justified?<\/h2>\n

During the company\u2019s fourth-quarter earnings call, Novogratz argued that concerns about quantum computing\u2019s impact on Bitcoin have been exaggerated.<\/p>\n

\u201cQuantum has been the big excuse for people,\u201d the cryptocurrency billionaire said. \u201cI think in the long run, quantum will not be a huge issue for crypto. It will be a big issue for the world, but Bitcoin, especially, will be able to handle it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Novogratz said he has been reassured by the \u201csmart guys\u201d that as the era of quantum computing approaches, Bitcoin\u2019s core developers will likely adapt the code to be quantum-resistant.\u00a0<\/p>\n
