Polymarket, Kalshi Roll Out &#8216;Free Grocery&#8217; Gambits For New Yorkers"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Prediction market platforms are competing to distribute free groceries in New York City, in a move reminiscent of Mayor <strong>Zohran Mamdani\u2019s<\/strong> proposal for municipality-owned stores.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Free Groceries For New Yorkers?<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Polygon <\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.benzinga.com\/quote\/POL-USD\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"ticker-link\" data-ticker=\"POL\" data-exchange=\"CRYPTO\" rel=\"noopener\">(CRYPTO: <\/a><a class=\"ticker\" href=\"https:\/\/www.benzinga.com\/quote\/\">POL<\/a>)-based <strong>Polymarket<\/strong> said Tuesday it will launch \u201cThe Polymarket,\u201d a \u201cfully-stocked\u201d physical store where New Yorkers can get free groceries. <\/p>\n<p>Polymarket said they have signed the lease after months of planning. The store is set for a \u201cgrand opening\u201d on Feb. 12.<\/p>\n<p>The Manhattan-based startup has not disclosed the new store\u2019s address.
