David Marcus,<\/strong> co-founder and CEO of Lightspark<\/strong>, said on Tuesday that Bitcoin <\/strong>(CRYPTO: <\/a>BTC<\/a>) is superior to gold, and the federal government should consider rotating a small portion\u00a0of its bullion reserves into\u00a0the apex cryptocurrency.<\/p>\n

Marcus\u2019 Bold Suggestion<\/h2>\n

During an interview with Bloomberg TV, Marcus said he\u2019s all for selling gold to buy Bitcoin for the Strategic National Reserve.<\/p>\n

\u201cBitcoin is so much better\u00a0than gold. Come on. Like,\u00a0it\u2019s like it\u2019s a no-brainer,\u201d the former PayPal <\/strong>president stated.<\/p>\n

Marcus, however, advised a slow and deliberate approach to this transition.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe government should potentially rotate a very, very tiny slice of its gold reserves into Bitcoin reserves, but do it very slowly and deliberately and not rush into it,\u201d he suggested. \u201cThat would be my preference, or don\u2019t do it at all.\u201d<\/p>\n

Marcus argued that buying Bitcoin on a \u201clarge scale\u201d could backfire if a new administration takes over and reverses course.<\/p>\n
