Cryptocurrency experts are largely united in their belief that Bitcoin<\/strong>\u2018s (CRYPTO: BTC<\/a>) long-term bull run remains intact<\/a>, even as the apex crypto struggles to keep short-term bearish fears<\/a> away.<\/p>\n

Hawkish Fed <\/strong>Threw A Wrench In Bitcoin\u2019s Works<\/h2>\n

The recent market downturn, according to Bitfinex<\/strong> analysts, is primarily a result of \u201cthe Fed reducing the number of cuts in 2025 to two, signaling that it was taking a highly hawkish stance.\u201d <\/p>\n

They further noted that it suggests a shift in market dynamics that might not be completely priced in, especially given that the FOMC minutes were released, but the market continues to sell off.<\/p>\n

Marcin Kazmierczak<\/strong>, co-founder & COO of Redstone<\/strong>, suggests that while macro conditions are a factor, \u201cIt’s important to remember that the past year has been wild for the industry\u2014BTC is up nearly 100% YoY\u2014and we haven’t seen a significant market downturn in quite a while. Naturally, some market participants are taking profits.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also points towards tax season contributing to the sell-offs. <\/p>\n

However, Marcin added that structurally, nothing major has changed, and crypto as an asset class still has plenty of tailwinds heading into 2025.<\/p>\n

Tom Trowbridge<\/strong>, co-Founder of Fluence<\/strong>, sees the current dip \u201cdriven by the Fed\u2019s hawkish stance and possibly a misunderstanding of the DOJ’s Bitcoin sales news.\u201d <\/p>\n

Still, \u201cany short-term moves we’re seeing now will ultimately be irrelevant as other nations follow the U.S.\u2019s lead, causing Bitcoin’s price to surge,\u201d Trowbridge emphasizes.<\/p>\n

Illia Otychenko<\/strong>, Lead Analyst at CEX.IO<\/strong>, frames the dip within Bitcoin’s historical cycles, stating, \u201cHistorically, double-digit dips have been a hallmark of post-halving …<\/p>\n
