(NASDAQ:<a class=\"ticker\" href=\"https:\/\/www.benzinga.com\/stock\/META#NASDAQ\">META<\/a>) have reportedly requested its Board of Directors to conduct an assessment and determine if adding <strong>Bitcoin<\/strong> (CRYPTO: <a class=\"ticker\" href=\"https:\/\/www.benzinga.com\/quote\/btc\/usd\">BTC<\/a>) to the company\u2019s treasury will be in the best interest of the company.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What Happened: <\/strong>This request for assessment follows a proposal submitted by the company\u2019s shareholder <strong>Ethan Peck<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Peck is a deputy director for the National Center for Public Policy Research&#8217;s \u2018Free Enterprise Project\u2019, which is the conservative movement&#8217;s only full-service shareholder activism and education program. The organization has also submitted similar proposals to <strong>Microsoft Corp<\/strong>.
