However, the asset also has its critics, and veteran trader Peter Brandt was one of them.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In November 2020, shortly before the US SEC filed the lawsuit against Ripple, he <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/PeterLBrandt\/status\/1326256190536474631?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">claimed<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> that the token \u201cwould have been declared as a security\u201d if the agency \u201cunderstood cryptos.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Brandt continued his bashing manifest in the following years. In May last year, he <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/PeterLBrandt\/status\/1789785844326203465\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">predicted<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> the XRP\/BTC chart \u201cis headed toward zero.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Lately, though, he has started softening his stance, outlining bullish price forecasts for Ripple\u2019s native token. Moreover, he <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/PeterLBrandt\/status\/1878419609767837931\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-wpel-link=\"external\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">apologized<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> to the XRP Army for his comments in the past:<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cAn Olive Branch to XRP holders. Accept it if you will, reject it if you must, but I offer it with good intent. Over the years, I have taken some hard shots at you and your XRP asset. I admit my rudeness.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Brandt explained the motive of his skepticism with the fact that the asset\u2019s price \u201chas repeatedly over the years lost 80%, 90%, up to 97% of its value to BTC, which I consider to be the \u201cstore of wealth\u201d standard.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The trader noted that XRP proponents kept praising the asset even during <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">times of<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> substantial price crashes. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cThis pursuit I applaud. I joy<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> in your success at present,\u201d he added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In conclusion, Brandt said he wishes all XRP investors the best<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span> <span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">He stated that <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">as a trader,<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> his faith has never been in a single asset but \u201centirely based on my approach to cut losses quickly and allow for profitable trades.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201cI will stand by that faith. And I <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">stand by my belief<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> that any asset that routinely can lose 80% or more against a more stable asset is an insane way to grow wealth,\u201d his statement reads.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Hoskinson\u2019s Reaction<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">One of the people that <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/IOHK_Charles\/status\/1878572746742923479\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">noticed<\/a> <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Brandt\u2019s excuse was Cardano\u2019s founder, Charles Hoskinson. Interestingly, he also quarreled with the XRP Army years ago.
