Source: TradingView<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The recent price performance from Ripple\u2019s native token has defied the overall market movements for the past several days. Recall that the asset <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/why-is-ripples-xrp-price-up-today\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">jumped<\/a> hard on Saturday evening, surpassing $2.5 while most other assets stood still.<\/p>\n<p>During the subsequent crash on Monday, in which <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/btc-plunges-below-91k-for-the-first-time-since-november-leaves-500m-in-liquidations\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">BTC<\/a> tumbled below $90,000, and ETH <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/ethereum-bulls-face-185m-in-liquidations-as-eth-price-slumps-to-2-month-low\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">slumped<\/a> beneath $3,000 to mark multi-month lows, XRP<a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/2-metrics-indicate-ripple-xrp-price-faces-trouble-after-recent-surge-to-2-60\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\"> took the correction<\/a> in a less painful manner, dropping by a mode modest 9% to $2.33.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, though, the third-largest cryptocurrency has been on a roll and has outperformed its two bigger rivals by a significant margin. XRP went from that aforementioned low to $2.67 in less than a day, charting a 15% surge. This became its highest price tag in nearly a month.<\/p>\n<p>The most obvious reason behind the asset\u2019s surge today is the broader market\u2019s revival. However, there\u2019s more to the case, given its impressive performance compared to BTC, ETH, and many others.<\/p>\n<p>For instance, whales have been particularly active when it comes to accumulating XRP tokens. As <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/how-will-ripple-xrp-and-dogecoin-doge-prices-react-as-whales-keep-buying\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">reported<\/a> last week, they acquired over a billion XRP within a 48-hour period alone.<\/p>\n<p>Additionally, the legal battle between the company behind the asset and the SEC is <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/ripple-vs-sec-why-this-week-could-be-a-turning-point-in-the-lawsuit\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">expected<\/a> to take a turn by tomorrow, as the agency has to file its opening brief within the next 24 hours.
