Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano (ADA), addressed<\/a> the crypto community from London amid a European tour that included Italy and Switzerland on Sunday. In a video update, Hoskinson dispelled rumors about his commitment to ADA while offering insights into other blockchain projects, notably Sui.<\/p>\n

Hoskinson Clarifies His Position On Sui<\/h2>\n

Hoskinson began by acknowledging the polarized nature of the crypto ecosystem. \u201cPeople are so radicalized and polar that they anticipate the founder of Cardano to always just say negative things about the things that people do,\u201d he said. \u201cIf I say anything positive, there\u2019s this immediate impression that I\u2019m abandoning Cardano or somehow being disloyal to the project.\u201d<\/p>\n

He emphasized that such tribalism is counterproductive. \u201cThat tribalism is intrinsically self-destructive,\u201d Hoskinson stated. \u201cIt prevents us from learning and growing together as an ecosystem.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hoskinson\u2019s comments about Sui, a high-throughput blockchain project, sparked speculation about his allegiance to ADA. Addressing this, he noted his objective interest in Sui\u2019s technology<\/a>, particularly its consensus protocol developed by George Danezis, a researcher Hoskinson has known for nearly a decade.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve been looking at the project with an objective eye,\u201d Hoskinson explained. \u201cSome of the technology comes from George Danezis [\u2026] He wrote a paper called Narwhal and Tusk, which is one of the fastest BFT protocols ever conceived\u2014incredibly high throughput, six-figure TPS, low latency.\u201d<\/p>\n

He clarified his position regarding Sui: \u201cNot commenting on the distribution, the tokenomics, how they\u2019ve launched\u2014all those things\u2014I haven\u2019t looked at those things, nor do I care about them. I don\u2019t hold any [Sui tokens], and I\u2019m not involved with the project in any way.\u201d<\/p>\n

Cardano Remains Number One<\/h2>\n

Hoskinson also took the opportunity to reaffirm his dedication to ADA and highlighted its advancements. \u201cCardano is about compositionality and momentum,\u201d he said. \u201cWhen we make design decisions as an ecosystem, we build on top of those decisions for years to decades to come.\u201d<\/p>\n

He addressed criticisms about Cardano\u2019s technology being outdated: \u201cWhat\u2019s ironic about it is that Ethereum is desperate to try to be Cardano. They\u2019re trying to figure out how to do on-chain governance; they\u2019re trying to have liquid, non-custodial staking; they\u2019re trying to figure out how to bolt on UTXO.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hoskinson also detailed ongoing developments within the ecosystem, including the Ouroboros Leios<\/a> Protocol which \u201cwill be the fastest single-shard protocol around, \u201caccording to Hoskinson who added, \u201cThe CIP is written; we\u2019re nearly done with the prototyping of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Moreover, the ADA founder praised the progress on governance and decentralization: \u201cWe have just turned on the largest decentralized government<\/a> in the entire industry [\u2026] There are more than 500 people who have signed up to be DReps.\u201d<\/p>\n

He emphasized that ADA\u2019s approach is geared towards long-term success. \u201cCardano chose that road because it\u2019s a real cryptocurrency, and its aspiration is to be the dominant platform for the economic, political, and social systems of the world,\u201d Hoskinson asserted and claimed, \u201cWe have the best network stack, the best consensus architecture, the best programming model.\u201d<\/p>\n

Directly tackling the speculation about leaving Cardano, Hoskinson stated: \u201cI will praise from time to time good science and good engineering effort and interesting protocols that come across, but that doesn\u2019t mean in any sense of the word that I\u2019m no longer on the Cardano train.\u201d<\/p>\n

He confidently projected Cardano\u2019s future: \u201cLet me be very clear here: Cardano, I do believe, will become the largest cryptocurrency ecosystem in the world. It\u2019s going to take some time, and it\u2019s going to be done by the collective efforts of millions, if not tens of millions, of people working diligently in their own interests in their own projects over the coming years and decades.\u201d<\/p>\n

He concluded with a message of dedication and optimism: \u201cI\u2019m here to stay. I love every part of this. Cardano is here to change the world\u2019s economic, political, and social systems, and it\u2019s built purpose hand-in-glove for that expressed reason.\u201d<\/p>\n
