{"id":7776,"date":"2025-01-15T11:17:00","date_gmt":"2025-01-15T11:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=7776"},"modified":"2025-01-15T11:17:00","modified_gmt":"2025-01-15T11:17:00","slug":"bitcoin-caught-up-in-a-macro-driven-sell-off-may-fall-further-standard-chartered","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=7776","title":{"rendered":"Bitcoin Caught Up in a Macro-Driven Sell-Off, May Fall Further: Standard Chartered"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Bitcoin (BTC) and other digital assets have dropped as part of a wider macro-driven sell-off in the market and there is a risk that forced selling could lead to further weakness, investment bank Standard Chartered said in a report on Monday.<\/p>\n<p>The market downturn was triggered by Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/markets\/2025\/01\/15\/There%20is%20a%20danger%20that%20forced%20or%20panic%20selling%20could%20lead%20to%20further%20market%20weakness,%20the%20report%20said.\" target=\"_blank\">hawkish press conference<\/a> in mid-December.<\/p>\n<p>The bank noted that investors who took on bitcoin exposure after the U.S. election in November, are now &#8220;only breaking even,&#8221; and there is a risk that forced or panic selling could add to the sell-off.
