{"id":7842,"date":"2025-01-15T16:03:53","date_gmt":"2025-01-15T16:03:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=7842"},"modified":"2025-01-15T16:03:53","modified_gmt":"2025-01-15T16:03:53","slug":"boerse-stuttgarts-crypto-business-accounts-for-25-of-its-revenue-as-volume-triples","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=7842","title":{"rendered":"Boerse Stuttgart\u2019s Crypto Business Accounts for 25% of Its Revenue as Volume Triples"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Boerse Stuttgart, one of Germany\u2019s leading stock exchanges, has seen its cryptocurrency trading business explode in recent years to now account for approximately 25% of its overall revenue.<\/p>\n<p>While not revealing the exact cryptocurrency trading volume, the exchange group shared in a <a href=\"https:\/\/group.boerse-stuttgart.com\/media\/vsbdsyq0\/241230-mr-overview-boerse-stuttgart-group.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">press release<\/a> at the end of last year that the metric \u201calmost tripled\u201d in 2024 to record its best performance ever. In custody, Boerse Stuttgart had around \u20ac4.3 billion ($4.45 billion).<\/p>\n<p>The relative success of the exchange&#8217;s crypto business comes alongside a backdrop of spot ETF mania in the United States, the launch of which saw inflows of $36.2 billion in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Bitcoin accounted for nearly 50% of the exchange\u2019s cryptocurrency revenue, according to the firm\u2019s CEO Matthias Voelkel, who <a href=\"https:\/\/www.france24.com\/en\/live-news\/20250115-german-bourse-banks-on-trump-fuelled-crypto-boom\" target=\"_blank\">told<\/a> global news agency Agence France-Presse (AFP) that the exchange has been spending the last five years growing its cryptocurrency trading platform.<\/p>\n<p>The exchange\u2019s focus on attracting both professional and retail investors within the German-speaking world has seemingly proven fruitful as the platform has now managed to attract over one million cryptocurrency trading clients.<\/p>\n<p>Voelkel himself, according to the AFP, invested in bitcoin after considering the benefits of the blockchain technology underpinning the cryptocurrency and over a belief that their popularity will keep on growing.<\/p>\n<p>Boerse Stuttgart offers services through it&#8217;s digital exchange as well as the retail-focused trading app BISON.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, it launched a fully <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/business\/2023\/09\/15\/german-finance-heavyweights-develop-fully-insured-crypto-staking-offering-plan-2024-release\" target=\"_blank\">insured cryptocurrency staking service <\/a>on the BISON app through a partnership with German insurance giant Munich Re and staking provider Staking Facilities.<\/p>\n<p>CoinDesk reached out to Boerse Stuttgart but did not hear back before press time.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Boerse Stuttgart, one of Germany\u2019s leading stock exchanges, has seen its cryptocurrency trading business explode in recent years to now account for approximately 25% of its overall revenue.
