Buckle up\u2014we\u2019re diving in.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>How Will a New BRICS Currency Affect the US Dollar?<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"BRICS Summit 2024 : Russia's New CBDC Just Broke the US Dollar\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ApX0KZFLA2M?list=PLU52pNodXIGcjlOa-ho4VRm19eTyvytCL\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A quick reminder: BRICS stands for Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, which<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cdn.statcdn.com\/Infographic\/images\/normal\/30638.jpeg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> now represent the most powerful economic bloc<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> in the world. BRICS now also includes potential WW3 participants <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Egypt<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, and <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Iran<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Two things happened at the BRICS meeting late last year:<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> 1) BRICS announced their NEW CBDC called the Unit+. The idea is to create a neutral currency for outside trade between countries inside BRICS.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a02) BRICS countries a<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">nnounced they will use the Yuan for global trade instead of the US dollar. As they argue, the Yuan is backed by Chinese exports, while<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0the American dollar is backed by the Air Force and Navy <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">bomb planes<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 1280px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/GamM4_eXMAArTuv.jpg:large\" alt='MK \ud83c\uddf8\ud83c\udde6 on X: \"BRICS made a new currency. Apparently, yesterday, 1 BRICS = 17.02 USD, while today, 1 BRICS = 19.60 USD! No power ever lasts. Everything falls and weakens -' width=\"1280\" height=\"600\"><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">(<a class=\"general-link\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MKdawah\/status\/1849164676770472394\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">BRICS<\/a>)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">BRICS touts their new CBDC system as a potential $15 billion annual saver, though places like <\/span><a class=\"general-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ledgerinsights.com\/jp-morgan-oliver-wyman-cbdc-save-100-billion-cross-border-payment-costs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">JP Morgan say it could save $100 billion<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The jury is out on what blockchain they will use to create the new BRICS system, though it\u00a0<a class=\"general-link\" href=\"https:\/\/coinmarketcap.com\/community\/articles\/67046c7caff411061078c235\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">could be XRP or XLM<\/a>, the top two payment network cryptocurrencies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This should spell out to you that globalization is dying.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There\u2019s one more way that BRICS discussed weakening the US dollar at this year\u2019s summit: this\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>The Biggest Threat Ever to the USD as the Reserve Currency<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In addition to the new BRICS CBDC and Project MBridge for cross-border settlements (something we covered a few months ago; check it out here), Russia and China used the Kazan summit to push for a new denomination for oil \u2013 the <\/span><b>Petroyuan<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And once again, the Saudis are the biggest cheerleaders for this new system.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is true that the US dollar was no longer pegged to gold after <\/span><a class=\"general-link\" href=\"https:\/\/medium.com\/yardcouch-com\/1971-the-year-everyone-in-america-became-poor-b5f625d02963\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">1971<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0 <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s pegged to something better: <\/span><a class=\"general-link\" href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/Gie3hpeQZo0?si=jkm15CxlhAWIJ1bw&amp;t=19\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">OIL aka fossil fuels<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThe root problem with conventional currency is all the trust that&#8217;s required to make it work. That\u2019s what <\/span><a class=\"general-link\" href=\"https:\/\/miro.medium.com\/v2\/resize:fit:720\/format:webp\/1*_3ITmdwF_urbp3HXiq4GlA.png\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">we call the Petrodollar<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now, for the first time ever, the Saudis are cozying up to China and Russia, agreeing to sell oil in Chinese currency.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In many ways, the Petrodollar system put America in a Catch-22.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> To use an analogy, imagine you\u2019re the kid at school bringing candy daily. The reason you\u2019re able to do that \u2013 and score all the hot chicks \u2013 is <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">because your dad owns the f<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reaking chocolate factory (i.e., the Fed).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As long as everyone needs the US dollar, \u201cor the candy,\u201d you\u2019re the king.\u00a0 And you get diabetes, and you get diabetes! However, rival candy stores will eventually set up their own factory, creating rules that better suit them than the ones they play now. That\u2019s what BRICS is doing, relying on the Petroyuan and leaving the US dollar.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Final Thought on BRICS and the Petrodollar<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nobody owns the chocolate factory forever. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As the old saying goes, power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>We\u2019ll see if Trump can stave off US dollar challengers like BRICS\u2026 because, after all, t<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">he US dollar isn\u2019t going anywhere anytime soon.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to IMF data, <\/span><a class=\"general-link\" href=\"https:\/\/data.imf.org\/?sk=E6A5F467-C14B-4AA8-9F6D-5A09EC4E62A4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2.48% of the world\u2019s reserves<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> are held in yuan, compared to 55% for the dollar.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So the dollar isn\u2019t leaving.
