{"id":87698,"date":"2026-04-29T08:47:16","date_gmt":"2026-04-29T08:47:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=87698"},"modified":"2026-04-29T08:47:16","modified_gmt":"2026-04-29T08:47:16","slug":"sam-bankman-frieds-plea-for-new-trial-shut-down-judge-says-allegations-of-government-threats-wildly-conspiratorial","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=87698","title":{"rendered":"Sam Bankman-Fried&#8217;s Plea For New Trial Shut Down, Judge Says Allegations Of Government Threats &#8216;Wildly Conspiratorial&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>A judge dismissed on Tuesday rejected jailed cryptocurrency mogul <strong>Sam Bankman-Fried\u2019s <\/strong>request for a new trial, labelling the new evidence brought by him as \u201cwildly conspiratorial.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Judge Questions SBF\u2019s Key Arguments<\/h2>\n<p>Bankman-Fried, popularly known as SBF, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.benzinga.com\/crypto\/cryptocurrency\/26\/02\/50565909\/biden-era-doj-threatened-key-witnesses-into-silence-alleges-sam-bankman-fried-as-jailed-crypto-fraudster-files-request-for-new-ftx-trial\">filed a request for a new trial<\/a>\u00a0earlier in February, stating that\u00a0<strong>Daniel Chapsky,<\/strong>\u00a0former FTX head of partnerships,\u00a0<strong>Ryan Salame<\/strong>, former FTX Digital Markets co-CEO, and\u00a0<strong>Nishad Singh<\/strong>, former FTX engineering director, were &#8220;threatened&#8221; by the DOJ into silence or changing their statements.<\/p>\n<p>Judge <strong>Lewis Kaplan<\/strong>, who sentenced Bankman-Fried to 25 years in prison for\u00a0the\u00a0<strong>FTX<\/strong>\u00a0scam, said that none of the witnesses were \u201cnewly discovered\u201d and that SBF was aware of them before the trial.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe could have obtained or at least sought to compel their testimony. But he did neither.
