Rather than face the humiliation of being removed, Gensler announced <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">resigning<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> on Inauguration Day, January 20.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Yesterday, as Trump <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">was officially <a class=\"general-link\" title=\"Official Trump Congests Solana Network: Solana Layer 2 Explodes to $12.4M Raised\" href=\"https:\/\/99bitcoins.com\/news\/official-trump-congests-solana-network-solana-layer-2-explodes-to-12-4m-raised\/\" rel=\"\">sworn in<\/a><\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Gensler\u2019s<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> tenure ended without the president asking<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0him to lea<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">ve.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">With the transition underway, the president has appointed Commissioner Mark Uyeda as the temporary chair of the SEC.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">New SEC Boss Revealed: Who is Mark Uyeda?<\/span><\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> Uyeda is not a new face to those actively following the evolution of crypto regulation in the United States.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Judging by his past comments, he is a staunch supporter of crypto innovation. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">His temporary appointment<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">comes at a pivotal moment, as the crypto industry\u2014worth trillions as of early January\u2014seeks a less adversarial regulator and a proponent of innovation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Uyeda has been a vocal critic of Gensler\u2019s leadership of the SEC, particularly regarding the<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> \u201c<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">regulation by enforcement<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u201d <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">approach.
