{"id":8834,"date":"2025-01-21T12:16:51","date_gmt":"2025-01-21T12:16:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=8834"},"modified":"2025-01-21T12:16:51","modified_gmt":"2025-01-21T12:16:51","slug":"u-s-doge-sports-dogecoin-logo-after-announcement-at-trump-inauguration","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=8834","title":{"rendered":"U.S. DOGE Sports Dogecoin Logo After Announcement at Trump Inauguration"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Dogecoin (DOGE) and parody DOGE tokens showed mixed movements alongside a broader market decline even as Donald Trump officially unveiled a Department of Government Efficiency at his Monday inauguration \u2014 bucking a historic tendency of the tokens to move higher on such mentions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo restore competence and effectiveness to our federal government, my administration will establish the brand-new Department of Government Efficiency,\u201d Trump declared during his speech after the swearing-in.<\/p>\n<p>An <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/DOGE\/status\/1881561913211187366\" target=\"_blank\">executive order<\/a> of the department&#8217;s establishment was issued shortly thereafter.<\/p>\n<p>The department holds no official power to enforce its recommendations and is headed by technocrat Elon Musk. <a href=\"https:\/\/doge.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">The website<\/a> started to display a dogecoin token logo on Tuesday, despite having no direct relation to the world\u2019s largest memecoin.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>DOGE was down as much as 5% in the past 24 hours, before reversing losses, tracking a nearly 5% drop in the broad-based <a href=\"https:\/\/indices.coindesk.com\/indices\/cd20\" target=\"_blank\">CoinDesk 20 (CD20)<\/a> and a 3% slide in bitcoin (BTC). A parody token, meanwhile, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coingecko.com\/en\/coins\/department-of-government-efficiency\" target=\"_blank\">is up 6%<\/a> with the bulk of gains made during the European morning.<\/p>\n<p>Musk first raised the idea of DOGE in October as a non-governmental agency to make government spending more efficient. That has since fueled expectation among traders that there could be more chatter of \u201cDOGE\u201d in mainstream media and retail trading circles, fueling attention and interest in dogecoin, as a CoinDesk analysis<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/markets\/2024\/11\/12\/dogecoin-rockets-48-as-traders-target-1-price-next\" target=\"_blank\"> noted in mid-October<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>DOGE isn\u2019t appreciated in government quarters and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/business\/2025\/01\/20\/doge-trump-musk-ramaswamy\/\" target=\"_blank\">faces lawsuits<\/a>. The National Security Counselors, a legal advocacy group, claims the committee violates the Federal Advisory Committee Act of 1972, which requires advisory groups to operate transparently.<\/p>\n<p>It says the department has an unclear legal structure.
