U.S. stock futures rose on Wednesday, after Tuesday\u2019s record close. This followed President Donald Trump<\/strong>\u2018s announcement of a temporary pause in a military-backed operation called \u2018Project Freedom<\/a>.\u2019 <\/p>\n

This project was designed to escort commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz. Trump said on Truth Social that while the U.S. operation would be paused temporarily<\/a> to allow negotiations to continue, America\u2019s blockade would remain firmly in place. <\/p>\n

In the labor market, private sector employment showed renewed momentum by adding 109,000 jobs in April. This acceleration was fueled by continued strength in health care alongside a rebound in the trade, transportation, and utilities sectors, marking the fastest pace of job growth since January 2025.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the 10-year Treasury bond yielded 4.37%, and the two-year bond was at 3.89%. The CME Group’s FedWatch tool<\/a>\u2018s projections show markets pricing a 94.1% likelihood of the Federal Reserve leaving the current interest rates unchanged during June\u2019s meeting.<\/p>\n

The SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust<\/strong> (NYSE:<\/a>SPY<\/a>) and Invesco QQQ Trust ETF<\/strong> (NASDAQ:<\/a>QQQ<\/a>), which track the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100, respectively, were higher in premarket on Wednesday. The SPY was up 0.75% at $729.20, while the QQQ advanced 1.21% to $689.78.<\/p>\n
