American Bitcoin Corp.<\/strong>\u00a0(NASDAQ:<\/a>ABTC<\/a>)\u00a0co-founder\u00a0Eric Trump<\/strong> on Wednesday pointed to JPMorgan Chase & Co.\u2019s<\/strong> (NYSE:<\/a>JPM<\/a>) shift in stance on Bitcoin <\/strong>(CRYPTO: <\/a>BTC<\/a>) as a major win for the cryptocurrency sector over traditional banking powerhouses.<\/p>\n

Trump Says Crypto \u2018Won The Race\u2019<\/h2>\n

At CoinDesk\u2019s Consensus event in Miami, Trump stated that JPMorgan went from calling Bitcoin a \u201cjoke asset\u201d to allowing institutional clients to use it as collateral for loans<\/a> in just 18 months.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s all gonna become digitized, and the banks have fought like hell. They kept that from happening, and we broke the banks,\u201d he added. \u201cWe\u2019ve won this race.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump said that institutional cryptocurrency adoption is just getting started, and the speed of growth over the next couple of years would be \u201cmonumental.\u201d<\/p>\n

JPMorgan didn\u2019t immediately return Benzinga\u2019s request for comment.<\/p>\n
