Economist\u00a0Peter Schiff<\/strong> reacted on Wednesday to\u00a0Strategy Inc.<\/strong>\u00a0(NASDAQ:<\/a>MSTR<\/a>) Chair Michael Saylor\u2019s<\/strong> admission about potentially selling Bitcoin <\/strong>(CRYPTO: <\/a>BTC<\/a>) to pay dividends on the firm\u2019s preferred stock.<\/p>\n

Schiff Attacks STRC Again<\/h2>\n

Schiff took a dig at Saylor and his firm on X, labeling the Perpetual Stretch Preferred Stock<\/strong>\u00a0(NASDAQ:<\/a>STRC<\/a>) offering as a \u201cPonzi scheme\u201d that gets prolonged by such commitments.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut my guess is when the time comes, he’d suspend the dividend and crash STRC rather than crash Bitcoin,\u201d Schiff predicted.<\/p>\n

Strategy didn\u2019t immediately return Benzinga\u2019s request for comment<\/p>\n

Yesterday @Saylor<\/a> admitted that $MSTR<\/a> would sell Bitcoin if needed to pay the dividend on $STRC<\/a>. I think that type of “commitment” is needed to keep the Ponzi going longer. But my guess is when the time comes, he’d suspend the dividend and crash $STRC<\/a> rather than crash Bitcoin.<\/p>\n
