This year\u2019s Davos is all about Bitcoin and AI. I mean the guy is our Einstein.&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/GRkzZtBk4c\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/GRkzZtBk4c<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Watcher.Guru (@WatcherGuru) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/WatcherGuru\/status\/1882043659463594449?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">January 22, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Jamie Dimon wants the world to know\u2014he and Elon Musk have buried the hatchet. \u201cElon and I hugged it out,\u201d Dimon casually dropped to <a class=\"general-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/01\/22\/davos-2025-live-updates-whats-going-on-at-wef-on-wednesday-jan-22-2025.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">CNBC<\/a> at Davos, the Swiss playground for the global elite. After a chat at a JPMorgan event, the two ironed out their beef.<\/p>\n<p>Dimon didn\u2019t hold back with the praise, calling Musk\u2019s ventures\u2014Tesla, SpaceX, Neuralink\u2014monuments of innovation. \u201cThe guy\u2019s our Einstein,\u201d Dimon declared, rolling out the red carpet for future collaborations. \u201cI want to help him and his companies however we can.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>This public rapprochement comes after JPMorgan dumped its $162 million lawsuit against Tesla over a contract spat involving stock warrants.\u00a0 Seems Wall Street has moved on\u2014or at least Dimon has.<\/p>\n<h2>World Economic Forum: Doubts on Bitcoin as a Reserve Asset<\/h2>\n<p>Lesetja Kganyago, South Africa\u2019s central bank chief, calmly dismantled the notion of Bitcoin as a strategic reserve. Addressing Trump\u2019s pledge for a <a href=\"https:\/\/99bitcoins.com\/news\/when-will-trump-pass-crypto-executive-order-bitcoin-markets-wait-for-monumental-reserve-move\/\">U.S. bitcoin reserve<\/a>, he compared the idea to hoarding reserves of obscure commodities, dismissing it as impractical.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>\u201cThere is a history to gold. There was once a gold standard,\u201d Kganyago remarked. \u201cIf we now say Bitcoin, what\u2019s next? Platinum? Apples? Strategic beef reserves?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The governor of the South African central bank scoffs at the idea of a strategic Bitcoin reserve asking, \u201cWhy not a strategic beef reserve? Why not an apple reserve? Kganyago also voiced concerns over the influence of crypto industry lobbying in shaping financial regulations.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf regulation is going to be established through the power of money, then we have a problem,\u201d Kganyago noted, pointing to the massive sums the crypto industry has poured into political campaigns.<\/p>\n<p>Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong painted a starkly different picture, applauding Trump\u2019s stance on crypto and the potential it brings for the industry. Armstrong spotlighted the surge in Bitcoin\u2019s value following Trump\u2019s re-election and noted the possibilities a Bitcoin reserve could unlock for the U.S. economy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Trump effect cannot be denied here,\u201d Armstrong stated. \u201cTo have the leader of the largest GDP country in the world openly support crypto\u2014this is unprecedented.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2>Nooo!! Hey, we\u2019re not complaining. The thing is, however, there\u2019s literally nothing stopping them from paying more than they have to.
