An undercover agent documented discussions with a CLS Global employee who detailed how the company\u2019s algorithm generated fake trading volume.<\/p>\n

The employee\u2019s recorded statements indicated that the company had provided similar services to multiple clients, acknowledging that the process constituted<\/a> wash trading. The employee said:<\/p>\n

It\u2019s very hard to track. . . . We\u2019ve been doing that for many clients. I know that it\u2019s wash trading and I know people might not be happy about it.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

These activities were critical in building the criminal case against CLS Global, which has since admitted to its role in the fraudulent scheme.<\/p>\n
