{"id":9342,"date":"2025-01-23T17:01:44","date_gmt":"2025-01-23T17:01:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=9342"},"modified":"2025-01-23T17:01:44","modified_gmt":"2025-01-23T17:01:44","slug":"morgan-stanley-figuring-out-how-to-act-as-transactors-of-crypto-ceo-says","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=9342","title":{"rendered":"Morgan Stanley Figuring Out How to Act as Transactors of Crypto, CEO Says"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Morgan Stanley (MS) is figuring out how it can act as a transactor in the crypto market, CEO Ted Pick said.<\/p>\n<p>The bank, which has some $1.6 trillion of assets under management, will work with the U.S. Treasury and other regulators to figure out how it can offer crypto in a safe way, Pick <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2025\/01\/23\/morgan-stanley-ceo-ted-pick-on-crypto.html\" target=\"_blank\">said in an interview with CNBC<\/a> at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor us, the equation is really around whether we, as a highly-regulated financial institution, can act as transactors,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Pick had been asked about his views on cryptocurrency in the U.S. under the supposedly pro-crypto presidency of Donald Trump. <\/p>\n<p>He described how Morgan Stanley is assessing whether the crypto industry has come of age as an asset class.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I think there is liquidity and that liquidity will express itself in all kinds of different ways,&#8221; Pick said in an apparent reference to the availability of crypto exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the U.S. <\/p>\n<p>U.S. spot bitcoin (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/price\/bitcoin\/\" target=\"_blank\">BTC<\/a>) ETFs now hold a combined $39 billion worth of the largest cryptocurrency and first started trading in early January last year.<\/p>\n<p>Read More: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.coindesk.com\/markets\/2025\/01\/22\/new-calamos-etf-promises-100-downside-protection-against-bitcoin-price-volatility\" target=\"_blank\">New Bitcoin ETF Promises 100% Downside Protection Against Price Volatility.
