{"id":93820,"date":"2026-05-20T14:01:39","date_gmt":"2026-05-20T14:01:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=93820"},"modified":"2026-05-20T14:01:39","modified_gmt":"2026-05-20T14:01:39","slug":"bitcoin-bears-say-btc-is-repeating-the-2022-pattern-k33-research-says-theyre-dead-wrong","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=93820","title":{"rendered":"Bitcoin Bears Say BTC Is Repeating The 2022 Pattern\u2014K33 Research Says They&#8217;re Dead Wrong"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><strong>Bitcoin<\/strong> <a class=\"ticker-link\" data-ticker=\"BTC\" data-exchange=\"CRYPTO\" href=\"https:\/\/www.benzinga.com\/quote\/BTC-USD\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">(CRYPTO: <\/a><a class=\"ticker\" href=\"https:\/\/www.benzinga.com\/quote\/btc\/usd\">BTC<\/a>) is down 6% since revisiting its 200-day moving average near $82,000 earlier this month, but K33 Research argues February\u2019s $60,000 bottom still marks this cycle\u2019s maximum drawdown.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Current Pattern Looks Different From 2014, 2018, 2022<\/h3>\n<p>K33 Head of Research <strong>Vetle Lunde<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblock.co\/post\/401991\/not-all-200-day-moving-averages-are-equal-k33-argues-februarys-60k-low-still-marks-cycles-maximum-drawdown\">pointed<\/a> out that Bitcoin spent 189 days between the November 200-day MA breakdown and May retest\u2014far longer than the 96, 132, and 85 days seen in prior cycles.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Bitcoin also remains more than 20% down during that period compared to positive returns in 2014 and 2022 and a shallower 8% drawdown in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>The 200-day moving average trended higher in prior years but lower in 2026, creating a fundamentally different setup. <\/p>\n<p>Past rallies recovered quickly, rebuilding risk appetite and leverage and setting up the unwind that fueled the next leg lower.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe current slow grind has not,\u201d Lunde stated.
