{"id":9404,"date":"2025-01-23T22:02:39","date_gmt":"2025-01-23T22:02:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=9404"},"modified":"2025-01-23T22:02:39","modified_gmt":"2025-01-23T22:02:39","slug":"trumps-digital-asset-executive-order-heres-whats-inside","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=9404","title":{"rendered":"Trump\u2019s Digital Asset Executive Order: Here\u2019s What\u2019s Inside"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>Donald Trump\u2019s executive order on crypto, titled \u201cStrengthening American Leadership in Digital Financial Technologies,\u201d has been signed.<\/p>\n<p>Here\u2019s exactly what\u2019s inside the order \u2013 which utterly revokes that of the more crypto-hostile Biden administration from two years ago.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Broadly, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/01\/strengthening-american-leadership-in-digital-financial-technology\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\">order<\/a> establishes the \u201cPresident\u2018s Working Group on Digital Asset Markets.\u201d It will be chaired by David Sacks \u2013 the <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/donald-trump-appoints-david-sacks-as-cryptocurrency-and-ai-czar\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">special advisor<\/a> for AI and crypto \u2013 and include heads of several other agencies like the Treasury Secretary, Attorney General, SEC chairman, and CFTC chairman.<\/li>\n<li>Next, the order tasks the DOJ, Treasury, and SEC to identify all recommendations and policies made to crypto within 30 days, and to submit recommendations for whether they should be revised or kept within 60 days.<\/li>\n<li>Within 180 days, the Working Group must submit a report to the President with policy recommendations surrounding crypto.<\/li>\n<li>In particular, they must propose a regulatory framework for the \u201cissuance and operation of digital assets, including stablecoins.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>It must also \u201cevaluate the potential creation and maintenance of a national digital asset stockpile\u201d \u2013 reminiscent of the stockpile Trump promised to establish for Bitcoiners in July 2024.<\/li>\n<li>This stockpile would potentially be \u201cderived from cryptocurrencies lawfully seized by the Federal Government,\u201d the order stated.<\/li>\n<li>The working group will hold public hearings gathering input from crypto industry leaders and experts in establishing their framework.<\/li>\n<li>Finally, the order prohibits federal agencies from \u201cundertaking any action to establish, issue, or promote CBDCs within the jurisdiction of the United States or abroad.\u201d The Republican Party \u2013 now controlling the House, Senate, and Presidency \u2013 has long opposed Democrats\u2019 desire to establish a CBDC.<\/li>\n<li>Trump has already followed through on several promises to the Bitcoin community, including granting a <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/donald-trump-pardons-silk-road-creator-ross-ulbricht\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\">pardon<\/a> to Silk Road founder Ross Ulbricht.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The post <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/trumps-digital-asset-executive-order-heres-whats-inside\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">Trump\u2019s Digital Asset Executive Order: Here\u2019s What\u2019s Inside<\/a> appeared first on <a href=\"https:\/\/cryptopotato.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">CryptoPotato<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Donald Trump\u2019s executive order on crypto, titled \u201cStrengthening American Leadership in Digital Financial Technologies,\u201d has been signed.
