Billionaire investor Mark Cuban<\/strong>\u00a0revealed on Thursday that he\u2019s sold most of his Bitcoin <\/strong>(CRYPTO: <\/a>BTC<\/a>) as it didn\u2019t turn out to be the \u201chedge\u201d he expected it to be.<\/p>\n

How Bitcoin Disappointed Cuban<\/h2>\n

Appearing on the Portfolio Players podcast, Cuban said that Bitcoin has \u201clost the plot\u201d and been \u201cdisappointing.\u201d<\/p>\n

The \u201cShark Tank\u201d celebrity said he always thought of Bitcoin as a \u201cbetter version\u201d of gold and the \u201cbest alternative\u201d to fiat currency losing its value. <\/p>\n

\u201cWell, gold just blew up and went to $5,000, and Bitcoin dropped. Every time the dollar dropped, Bitcoin should\u2019ve gone up,\u201d Cuban said.<\/p>\n

He said Bitcoin didn’t perform as the hedge he had expected, and that he’s sold off \u201cmost\u201d of his holdings.<\/p>\n
