{"id":97498,"date":"2026-06-01T15:33:11","date_gmt":"2026-06-01T15:33:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=97498"},"modified":"2026-06-01T15:33:11","modified_gmt":"2026-06-01T15:33:11","slug":"cardano-community-votes-no-on-its-own-summit-ada-tanks-3-what-is-going-on","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dogewisperer.com\/?p=97498","title":{"rendered":"Cardano Community Votes No On Its Own Summit, ADA Tanks 3%: What Is Going On?"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p><strong>Cardano\u2019s<\/strong> <a class=\"ticker-link\" data-ticker=\"ADA\" data-exchange=\"CRYPTO\" href=\"https:\/\/www.benzinga.com\/quote\/ADA-USD\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">(CRYPTO: <\/a><a class=\"ticker\" href=\"https:\/\/www.benzinga.com\/quote\/ada\/usd\">ADA<\/a>) community voted down funding for the Cardano Summit 2026, with the proposal falling short of the required two-thirds supermajority and sending ADA down 3%.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Proposal Got 65% Support But Needed 66.67% To Pass<\/h3>\n<p>The Cardano Foundation <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblock.co\/post\/403122\/cardano-foundation-cancels-2026-summit-after-treasury-funding-vote-falls-just-short\">proposed<\/a> a two-day summit in Singapore on October 5-6, seeking 7.8 million ADA worth roughly $2 million from the network treasury.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Yes votes came in at 65.21% of participating delegated representative stake, just 1.46 percentage points short of the 66.67% supermajority treasury withdrawals required.<\/p>\n<p>By headcount the vote was actually a majority, 135 in favor against 61 opposed with 24 abstaining.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>However, Cardano\u2019s governance rules require roughly two-thirds of DRep stake, not just a simple majority, for treasury actions to pass.
