Strategy Inc.<\/strong>\u00a0(NASDAQ:<\/a>MSTR<\/a>)\u00a0CEO\u00a0Phong Le<\/strong> said on Wednesday that financial tools popularized by the firm were employed in Google<\/strong> parent Alphabet Inc<\/strong>.\u2019s\u00a0<\/strong>(NASDAQ:<\/a>GOOG<\/a>)\u00a0(NASDAQ:<\/a>GOOGL<\/a>) proposed capital raise.<\/p>\n

CEO Sees Strategy\u2019s Win In Google\u2019s Raise<\/h2>\n

In an X post, Le pointed out that Google\u2019s\u00a0proposed $80 billion equity capital raise, now upsized to $84.75 billion<\/a>, includes\u00a0 $15 billion convertible preferred stock and\u00a0a $40 billion at-the-market offering, instruments that Strategy has used before.<\/p>\n

The fundraising initiative, by far the largest and most notable capital raise in Alphabet\u2019s public history, is explicitly designed to expand its AI infrastructure and global compute capabilities.<\/p>\n

\u201cFinancing tools popularized by MSTR to acquire Bitcoin are now being used by a Mag 7 company to build AI,\u201d Le said. \u201cAI and Bitcoin are the digital rails of the future.\u201d<\/p>\n

Le attached a graphic that traces the preferred capital\u2019s trajectory, its mid-20th century decline, and \u201cre-emergence\u201d in digital asset and compute financing in the 21st century.<\/p>\n
