However, Cuban says all proceeds would go toward paying off the US national debt, which currently stands at over $36 trillion.<\/p>\n<p>The tech billionaire posted on X on 20 January 2025 about his meme coin idea as a way to gamble but also to \u201cmake a dent in the US debt.\u201d The star of the business reality TV show, Shark Tank, said the TRUMP and MELANIA tokens were harmful to the crypto industry.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">If meme coins are the way, maybe I\u2019ll issue one.
